Rs 3 crore in demonetised notes seized in Bengaluru
Even as a man was caught red-handed with the notes, two others managed to flee from the spot.
The Bengaluru police on Tuesday seized Rs 3 crore in demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes. The crime branch police arrested a man while attempting to exchange the old notes with new Rs 2,000 notes. The police claim that two others who were part of the racket are absconding, and the search for them is underway.

A 46-year-old man, identified as Nanjunda, was caught red-handed in Shankarapuram locality of the city while attempting to exchange notes. A resident of Shanti Nagar, he was told that old notes were being exchanged for new ones on commission basis near bull temple road. Even as the police arrested him with the demonetised currency notes, two others fled from the spot.
A mobile phone, as well as a car that was used to transport the illegal cash have been seized. Further investigations are underway.
