It was a big night for India, with two big wins at the Oscar. RRR’s “Naatu Naatu” sure did steal the show.

Shortly after the film scripted history at the 95th Academy Awards, the script writer V Vijayendra Prasad called it a moment of triumph for the entire film fraternity in India.

Prasad recalled a call from the Prime Minister's Office in which he was told that he was about to be entrusted with some responsibility. Vijayendra Prasad is the father of the genius director, S S Rajamouli.

"I got a call on July 6 from the PMO saying they want to entrust me with some responsibility. However till the time I received the call, I had no clue that I was being nominated to the Rajya Sabha. On July 7, I received another call from the PMO, with the caller saying, Modi ji wanted to speak with me. He started speaking in Hindi but, I told my Hindi is not that good. He went on to speak in fluent English and offered me the Rajya Sabha seat. The President of India wants to offer you a Rajya Sabha seat," Prasad said while recalling the conversation with the Prime Minister.

Prasad also went on to speak about the honours that the song, 'Naatu Naatu' bagged at the Oscars.

"For long I had wished for our movies to make waves at Hollywood. We were unable to find a foothold despite us having such rich content. That our film made it to the Oscars and won an award is a moment of triumph for the entire film fraternity of India. Our film fraternity can and should celebrate this moment of glory we have have at last. We have been able to showcase the wealth of talent that we possess," he also said.

He also went on to say that a sequel to RRR is in the works.

"Sometimes my son (Rajamouli) asks me in what aspects is India the richest in the world. I tell him that our country's richness lies in our storytelling. He had a word with the acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg who told him never to compromise with our culture of storytelling. We will be soon making a sequel to RRR," he further added.

Prasad also said that "Naatu Naatu" has had a glory run across the world in recent months. The song won the Golden globe Award for the 'Best Original Song,' before it could compete for an Oscar.

RRR has also bagged two additional honours-one for the best song and other for the best foreign language film.
