Roller Coaster Of Emotions! Know How Election Trends For Haryana And Jammu & Kashmir Changed In Only 2 Hours

The atmosphere at the BJP and Congress offices in Haryana has shifted dramatically. Initially, the Congress was ahead, but now the BJP is leading. With several rounds of counting still to go, the situation remains fluid. Exit polls had predicted a Congress victory, but they have been wrong before.

At 10:30 am, the BJP was leading in 47 out of 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly elections. The Congress, which began celebrating early, is now ahead in only 36 seats, trailing by nine seats behind the BJP. The initial celebrations at the Congress headquarters involved bursting crackers and distributing jalebis.

Changing Celebrations

As results shifted in favour of the BJP, festivities moved to their headquarters. Media personnel were treated to snacks and laddoos as part of the celebration. Meanwhile, at the Congress office, enthusiasm waned, although supporters remain hopeful for a positive outcome.

Despite the current standings, Congress leaders are maintaining an optimistic outlook. Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Kumari Shelja have both expressed confidence in their party's chances of winning in Haryana.

Historical Context

If these results hold, it will mark a third consecutive victory for the BJP in Haryana. This would also be their best performance yet in this politically important state. In the previous 2019 Assembly election, the BJP secured 40 seats while Congress won 31 seats.

The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), which previously allied with BJP to form a government by winning 10 seats in 2019, is no longer aligned with them and has faced setbacks this time around.

The evolving political landscape keeps everyone on edge as counting continues. Both parties keenly watch every development as they await the final results.
