RJD Compares New Parliament With Coffin, BJP Hits Out
The RJD, which boycotted the inauguration of the new Parliament House on Sunday, equated the structure of the new building with that of a coffin.
The party shared a photo of a coffin and tweeted, 'Yeh kya hai (What is this? in hindi?" However, the BJP did not take the comments lightly and former Bihar CM Sushil Modi said that a case of treason should be registered.

"A case of treason should be registered against such people who have compared the new Parliament building with a coffin," ANI quoted Sushil Modi as saying.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the newly-constructed Parliament building. However, 19 Opposition parties including Congress and RJD boycotted the event.
The opposition parties contend that President Draupadi Murmu should inaugurate the new Parliament building as she is not only the Head of State, but also an integral part of Parliament as she summons, prorogues, and addresses it.
"PM Modi has buried democracy. The coffin has been posted as Modi has ensured the death of democracy," RJD leader Shakti Yadav told ANI.
"This is very unfortunate. Today they are comparing it with a coffin, were they comparing the old Parliament with 'zero'? We were earlier sitting in zero?" BJP leader Dushyant Gautam asked.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi said that political parties should rise above politics. "No political comments should be made on the day when the new Parliament building is being inaugurated today," he told the news agency.
On the other hand, netizens have also condemned the RJD's post.
Responding to RJD's 'coffin' post, a user wrote, "First photo - future of your party. Second photo - India's future."
Another one said, "Exactly, corrupt parties like yours have been made only to bury..!"
"You people are not going to go to the new parliament in 2024, so you have already found a coffin for yourself," the third netizen stated. Another one added, "RJD has made this coffin for himself because the time has come for it to be buried in the coffin."
Interestingly, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi slammed the RJD for its controversial comments.
He said, "It would have been better if Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla inaugurated the new Parliament House. RJD has no stand, the old Parliament building did not even have clearance from Delhi Fire Service. Why are they (RJD) calling the Parliament a coffin? They could have said anything else, why do they need to bring this angle?"
