RJ Mahvash’s Instagram Post Raises Eyebrows Amid Yuzvendra Chahal’s Divorce Settlement
Following reports that cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has agreed to pay Rs 4.5 crore as permanent alimony to his estranged wife Dhanashree Verma, RJ Mahvash, who is rumoured to be dating Chahal, shared a cryptic Instagram post on Wednesday. The post attracted attention, especially as Chahal had liked it almost immediately.
RJ Mahvash, who has been spotted cheering for Team India at the Champions Trophy Final and seen with Chahal in recent weeks, posted a series of pictures of herself dressed in a white t-shirt and red-heart patterned sheer shrug, paired with a black belt. Her caption read: "Jhut, lalach, aur fareb se parey hain..khuda ka shukr ainey aaj bhi khade hain," which translates to, "Far from lies, greed, and deceit... Thank God, we are still standing today, looking in the mirror."

The timing of the post was significant, coinciding with reports that Chahal had agreed to pay Rs 4 crore 75 lakh as permanent alimony to Verma. However, according to the latest updates, Chahal has only paid Rs 2 crore 37 lakh so far, with the remaining amount still pending. This delay in payment led to the rejection of Chahal's cooling-off plea by the court, which deemed the non-payment as non-compliance.
In a related development, the Bombay High Court has directed the family court to decide the divorce plea of Chahal and Verma by March 20. The cricketer, who is set to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from March 22, had filed for divorce under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, seeking a divorce by mutual consent. The couple, who married in December 2020, has been living apart since June 2022 and filed their petition in February this year.
