Rishab Shetty wins big at Dadasaheb Phalke, dedicates honour to late Puneeth Rajkumar, SK Bhagavan
The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival awards were announced on Monday with The Kashmir Files winning the Best Film award.
Rishab Shetty, the talented pan-Indian global star and filmmaker, who gained worldwide recognition with his blockbuster movie Kantara, was on Monday honoured with the prestigious award for the most promising actor at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2023. The actor was in Mumbai to receive the award.

Taking to Twitter, Shetty penned a note of gratitude. The actor dedicated his win to Power star Puneeth Rajkumar and director SK Bhagavan.
"Honoured to add feathers to this cap. I cannot express my gratittude for bestowing the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award upon me," he wrote.
He added, "I am grateful to Hombale films and Vijay Kiragandur Sir for trusting me and giving me an opportunity. I cannot wait to make more and better films together."
For those unaware, the movie which released on September 30 has been written and directed by Rishab Shetty, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. The film stars Rishab Shetty Shetty as a Kambala champion who is at loggerheads with an upright DRFO officer, Murali (played by Kishore). The film earned more than it's budget by the first week and went on to rake in over Rs 450 crore in lifetime business at the box office.
Kantara also joined the Oscar race with two nominations. The world has seen the phenomenal success of Hombale films, Kantara.
The Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival (DSPIFF) is an annual film festival that honors the contributions of filmmakers, actors, and other artists to the film industry. The festival is named after Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, also known as Dadasaheb Phalke, who is considered the father of Indian cinema.
This year, Vivek Agnihotri directorial, The Kashmir Files won the Best Film award and Anupam Kher taking the Most Versatile Actor Of The Year award for the film at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023. Alia Bhatt not just received her Best Actress award for Gangubai Kathiawadi but also received husband Ranbir Kapoor's Best Actor award for Brahmastra on his behalf.
In 2019, Yash received the Dada Saheb Phalke South Award for his performance in KGF Chapter 1. After that, in 2020, Kichcha Sudeep received the award in the Most Promising Actor category for his performance in Dabangg 3.
