Rise above religion, says PM Narendra Modi
New Delhi, Dec 1: People must rise above issues of religion and sects, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday.
Wrapping up a debate on the 125th birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar, one of the key architects of the constitution, Modi said the constitution kept the country united.

It was also the people's duty to keep the country one, Modi said in his concluding remarks in the Rajya Sabha.
For this, he said, "we have to rise above sects, religion".
The Indian constitution, Modi said, had been the guiding spirit for the nation even amid dark times. It also keeps India bound together, he added.
