Rift in SP? Mulayam criticizes Akhilesh's free-laptop scheme
Lucknow, Nov 18: Samajwadi Party seems to have grown an invisible fissure in its ideologies. Mulayam Singh Yadav, father of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and the party supremo, criticized his son publicly yet again. This time, for his laptop scheme. He somehow linked the scheme to the failure of the party in the Lok Sabha elections.
At the party's national convention for women, Mulayam Singh Yadav said: "I was against laptops. If we lost the elections, it is due to them. Modi put his face and speeches in them."

So far, the Akhilesh Yadav government has distributed over 15 lakh laptops under the free laptop scheme for students. Incidentally, some of the BJP supporters were seen using these laptops and some students were also found streaming videos of Narendra Modi.In fact, they also followed news and tweets by the BJP government. Yadav further added,"The laptops were showing Modi's speech, his photos. All the young people were watching these. I asked them why they were distributing these, they could cause trouble."
Although the party is mum over his comments, it is known that chief minister Akhilesh Yadav considers the free laptop scheme for students an achievement. Last year, during a free laptop distribution program, Akhilesh Yadav said,"Nobody expected the socialists to talk about English and computers, but we have bridged the digital divide."
Nevertheless, this is not the first time that the CM had to face his father. Mulayam had earlier targetted his son over the law and order situation in the state.
