Revise demonetisation: Swaraj Abhiyan

The scheme should not be scrapped but the old demonetised 500 and 1,000 rupee notes should continue to be legal tender for all transactions till December 31, the party said.

New Delhi, Nov 14 The Swaraj Abhiyan on Monday urged the government to immediately revise the demonetisation scheme.

It said it had backed the demonetisation as a necessary step to check fake currency but the first five days of the scheme had confirmed the worst fears and showed the government was ill-prepared in its move.

The scheme should not be scrapped but the old demonetised 500 and 1,000 rupee notes should continue to be legal tender for all transactions till December 31, the party said.
