Revanth Reddy Accuses BRS and BJP of Hindering Development in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has accused the BRS and BJP of obstructing development projects in the state, particularly the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion. He urges voters to support Congress candidate Naveen Yadav in the upcoming bypoll.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has accused the BRS and BJP of having a covert alliance. He criticised BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy for allegedly spreading falsehoods about the Congress government and hindering the state's progress. This was stated during an election campaign supporting V Naveen Yadav, the Congress candidate for the Jubilee Hills assembly bypoll.

Revanth Reddy alleged that G Kishan Reddy was obstructing Hyderabad's development by blocking projects like the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion and Musi rejuvenation. He questioned whether Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar had secured any funds for Telangana. He claimed BJP MPs are campaigning in Jubilee Hills without seeking funds from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the state's development.

BJP and BRS Alleged Alliance

The Chief Minister pointed to BJP's victory in eight Lok Sabha seats in 2024 as evidence of a secret relationship between BJP leaders and BRS. He urged Jubilee Hills voters to support Congress candidate Naveen Yadav, emphasising that it is crucial for the constituency's development rather than sentiment. He warned that not electing the Congress nominee would be a significant mistake.

Revanth Reddy criticised KT Rama Rao, BRS Working President, for neglecting Jubilee Hills during his decade-long tenure as Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister. He accused former BRS rulers of exploiting the state and ignoring public grievances in Jubilee Hills.

Congress Development Initiatives

The Chief Minister highlighted that after winning the Secunderabad Cantonment by-election, Congress initiated development projects worth Rs 4,000 crore there. He pledged to take responsibility for Jubilee Hills' development with support from Azharuddin and Naveen Yadav after the by-elections.

Revanth Reddy also questioned BJP's objections to appointing Congress leader Mohammed Azharuddin as a minister in his Cabinet. "Why is the BJP so upset after Azharuddin is given a ministerial post?" he asked.

Upcoming By-Election Details

The high-stakes bypoll for the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency is scheduled for November 11, with vote counting on November 14. The by-election follows the death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath in June due to a heart attack.
