Pics: Rescue ops underway to save 4-year old from 300-ft borewell

Hyderabad, Oct 13: Rescue operations are underway to save the four-year old girl who fell into a 300-foot deep borewell at Manchal mandal in the Ranga Reddy district of Telangana on Sunday morning.

G Girija slipped into the hole when she had gone to attend the nature's call while her grandparents were working in the fields. Inside sources said that she was located at a depth of 45 feet. Rescue operators, including an entire team of NDRF were digging the land parallel to the borewell. Meanwhile, an oxygen pipe has been dropped into the hole to help the victim breathe.

State Disaster Response, the National disaster response and fire service departments in the area said that water was found at about 40-footh depth and if that was the case, the survival chances of the girl was minimal. However, satet officials said that the rescue operations were progressing quickly.
