Chennai, Dec 23: East Village Technologies is a provider of technology services in the ecommerce domain. One of our clients, a leading digital media house is in the process of launching a online product discovery platform, targeting the Indian online shopper.

Ecommerce is growing at a pace of 52% year after year and the number of online shoppers in India is expected to hit 100 Million by 2016. What started as a means to look for discounts is now proving to be a means of convenience and choice in a single window.

Our client wants to take this further and let the India shopper find products that meet their interest in shopping and go beyond the big 4 shopping sites.

Full stack developer - (INR 75K/Month)

Looking to work with an awesome candidate, that can develop and maintain a Ruby on Rails application that will revolutionize online shopping. The role requires candidate to think independently, build and test new product features, own development, with minimal oversight from CTO. The role will allow candidate to work in a well-funded startup, respected management team, exposure to the latest technologies in ecommerce and directly work with CEO and CTO.

Skills Required:

Confidence in building and maintaining an entire Ruby on Rails application with only some help from a senior member.

Expert level knowledge of HTML5 + CSS including responsive layouts, touch events and cross-browser issues
Intermediate level knowledge of JavaScript + jQuery
Ruby on Rails
Git
Good with relational databases
Experience integrating with web services
Preferred
Experience with key-value data stores like Redis
Server setup and maintenance

Experience: 2+ years experience in application development

Location: Chennai (Royapettah)

Front end developer - INR 30K/month

Develop and maintain a responsive HTML / CSS front end for a next gen product discovery platform within Ruby on Rails. The role will allow candidate to work in a well funded startup, respected management team, exposure to the latest technologies in ecommerce and directly work with CEO and CTO.

Skills Required:

Expert level knowledge of HTML5 + CSS including responsive layouts, touch events and cross-browser issues
Intermediate level knowledge of JavaScript + jQuery
Preferred
Expert level knowledge in JavaScript + jQuery
Good with HTML5 + CSS3 animations
Some experience with Ruby on Rails layouts, rendering and caching
Git

Experience: 2+ years experience in front-end development

Location: Chennai (Royapettah)

Ruby on Rails developer - INR 45K/month

Develop and maintain a Ruby on Rails application for a next gen product discovery platform. Build features based on input from product manager that will increase user engagement. Integrate with a 3rd party api, that will provide additional value added features to increase user engagement and experience.

The role will allow candidate to work in a well funded startup, respected management team, exposure to the latest technologies in ecommerce and directly work with CEO and CTO.

Skills Required:

Confidence in building and maintaining an entire Ruby on Rails application with only some help from a senior member
