Republic Day 2025: PM Modi, UP CM Yogi Extend Greetings To Nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the nation on January 26, marking the 76th Republic Day. He expressed hopes for reinforcing efforts to uphold the Constitution's ideals and work towards a prosperous India. "Happy Republic Day. Today, we celebrate 75 glorious years of being a Republic," PM Modi posted on X, acknowledging the contributions of those who shaped India's democratic journey.

President Droupadi Murmu will lead the celebrations from Kartavya Path, focusing on 75 years since the Constitution's enactment and public participation. This year's festivities will showcase India's cultural diversity, unity, equality, development, and military strength.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is the Chief Guest. Approximately 10,000 special guests have been invited to witness the parade, aligning with the government's aim to enhance public involvement in national events.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended his greeting to the nation of the 76th Republic Day.

Republic Day Parade Highlights

The Republic Day parade will commence at 10:30 am and last about 90 minutes. Prime Minister Modi will begin by visiting the National War Memorial to pay tribute to fallen heroes with a wreath-laying ceremony. Following this, he will proceed to Kartavya Path to observe the parade proceedings from the saluting dais.

The President's Bodyguard, the oldest regiment of the Indian Army, will escort President Murmu and her Indonesian counterpart upon their arrival at Kartavya Path. The parade is set to feature an impressive fly-past showcasing 40 aircraft and helicopters from the Air Force. This includes Rafale, Su-30, Jaguar fighter jets; C-130, C-295 transport aircraft; Apache helicopters; and more.

Special Guests and Cultural Display

The event will host special guests from various fields who have excelled in their domains or effectively utilised government schemes. These individuals are considered architects of 'Swarnim Bharat'. The celebrations aim to reflect India's rich cultural tapestry while promoting unity and progress.

The ceremony will conclude with the national anthem and a symbolic release of balloons carrying banners that commemorate 75 years since the Constitution came into effect.
