Rekha Gupta's political career began in 1992 when she joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). She became Secretary of the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) in 1995-96 and its President the following year. In 2007, she was elected as a councillor from North Pitampura and later became a national executive member of BJP in 2010.
In 2022, Rekha was chosen as the BJP candidate for Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). By 2023, she had been elected as an MLA from Shalimar Bagh in Delhi Assembly elections. Currently, she serves as Delhi BJP General Secretary and National Vice President of BJP Mahila Morcha.

Rekha Gupta was born on July 19, 1974, in Julana, Haryana. She married businessman Manish Gupta on June 28, 1998. Together they have two children: son Nikunj and daughter Harshita Gupta.
