Register defence personnel as voters at their posting place: SC to EC

New Delhi, March 24: The Supreme Court on Monday directed Election Commission to register the military personnel as general voters in the constituencies where they are posted, says an IBN Live news.

This ruling comes as a big relief to the army personnel.

The apex court also says defence personnel stationed in peace stations as on January, 2014 and till date may register themselves as general voters in such constituencies.

The apex court directs EC to issue necessary instructions prohibiting political parties from campaigning in cantonments.
