Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Independence address on Thursday, highlighted the reforms carried out by the BJP government in his previous terms and said that it was implemented not to satisfy experts or intellectual debate clubs rather to strength the country.

Speaking from the ramparts of Red Fort, he said, "We were given a huge responsibility and we introduced major reforms on the ground...I would like to assure the countrymen, our commitment to reforms is not limited to pink paper editorials. Our commitment to reforms is not for a few days of appreciation.

In his Independence Day 2024 address from the historic Red Fort, PM Modi spoke about the crucial role of India's youth, space sector, women empowerment, and economic reforms in building a prosperous and developed nation by 2047. He further highlighted that Rs 9 lakh crore has been provided to self-help groups, reinforcing the government's commitment to uplifting women and their role in the economy.

He also expressed sympathy for those affected by recent natural calamities, assuring the nation that the government stands with them in their time of need.
