Reasi Terror Attack: J&K Police Release Sketch Of Suspected Militant

The terror attack that took place a couple of days ago in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir has left nine people dead and 41 others injured.

The incident occurred when terrorists opened fire on a passenger bus carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to the Vaishno Devi shrine. The attack caused the bus to veer into a deep gorge. The attack took place near Teryath village in the Poni area, involving a 53-seater bus with passengers from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi.

In response, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have released sketch of a terrorist involved in the ambush, based on descriptions from the eyewitnesses. They have announced a Rs 20 lakh reward for information leading to the arrest of the terrorist.

The police have intensified the search to track down the terrorists, deploying 11 teams of security personnel and establishing a multi-directional cordon around the Ranso-Poni-Treyath belt. The terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba is believed to be behind the attack.

Additionally, a team from the NIA has assessed the situation and its forensic team is collecting evidence. J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh each for the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each for the injured.
