Ratan Tata corrupt, involved in many scams: Subramanian Swamy

Subramanian Swamy said that Ratan Tata was involved in many scams including the 2G and the Air Asia scam

Raipur, Nov 3: Known for his controversial remarks, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Thursday said that Ratan Tata was the most corrupt chairman in the history of the Tata Group.

Taking a dig at the business mogul, Swamy said: "The most corrupt person in Tata history is Ratan Tata. He is not even a Tata, as his father was an adopted child."

According to a report in Economic Times, speaking about the recent ouster of Cyrus Mistry from the Tata Group, Swamy said that Ratan Tata was being unjust to Mistry.

"Ratan Tata is doing injustice with Cyrus Mistry. Two months back, the entire board appreciated the work of Mistry. It could be his jealousy that prompted the action," he said.

Swamy went on to add that Ratan Tata was part of many scams including the 2G scam, the Air Asia scam among others.

Meanwhile, the BJP MP has demanded constitution of a SIT to probe in the allegations of certain fraudulent transactions in Air Asia levelled by Cyrus Mistry following his removal as chairman of the Tata Group.
