RapidX Train Fares Out: Travel On 17-KM Priority Section For As Little As Rs 50: Check Fare Chart
Travelling one-way from Sahibabad to Duhai Depot station on the 17-km priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor will be priced at Rs 50, with a premium-class coach option available for the same route at Rs 100.
India's first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor will be available for passengers from October 21. The priority section between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot has five stations - Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot.

"A day after the inauguration of the priority section, passenger services will begin from October 21 morning. RAPIDX trains will be operational between 6 am and 11 pm. Initially, trains will be available every 15 minutes, though the frequency can be increased on a requirement basis in the future," PTI quoted an official source as saying.
The majority of the passengers who travel between Ghaziabad and Sahibabad will have to pay Rs 30 up to the Sahibabad RRTS station for travelling in standard class coach and Rs 60 for premium class travel.
Going by the fare chart, the cost per kilometre for the entire 17-km priority section is Rs 2.94 in a standard coach and Rs 5.88 in a premium coach, according to a report in Hindustan Times.
The report further claims that people have to shell out around Rs 100-150 for the 17-km distance between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot. Also, people may be charged around Rs 75-90 from Ghaziabad to Sahibabad. It has to be noted that Metro service is not available between the two points.
Talking about the fares, a spokesperson from the NCRTC said, "All factors were analysed before finalising the fare. These factors included the consideration of cost, viability, fare in other similar transport mediums across the globe and also the factor of realisation of cost. RapidX is altogether a different system from Metro trains and the two cannot be compared,"
The entire Delhi-Meerut RAPIDX is an 82-km-long network which will be fully operational by 2025.

Every RAPIDX train comprises six coaches, including one premium and four regular coaches, all equipped with reclining seats and increased legroom. Access to the luxury coach is available through an exclusive lounge.
Premium coaches are distinguishable by their unique color-coded seats and come equipped with various commuter-focused amenities such as reclining seats, coat hooks, magazine holders, footrests, and even the potential for future vending machine installation, according to officials.
The premium coach configuration designates the first coach travelling from Delhi to Meerut and the last coach travelling from Meerut to Delhi. It is separated from the adjacent coach by a sliding door. To access a premium coach, passengers will need to enter through a dedicated premium lounge located on the platform. This lounge is furnished with comfortable cushioned seats and features a vending machine for purchasing snacks and beverages.
