Rape victim burnt to death in UP for refusing compromise
Sambhal (UP), July 29: In a gruesome incident, a 17-year-old girl was set ablaze at a village near here by a youth, who had allegedly raped her a year ago, as she refused to reach a compromise, police said on Wednesday, July29.
The rape accused Vijay and his accomplice Rajendra sprinkled kerosene on the girl in Ahraula Nawazi village under Gunnaur police station area and set her ablaze after their efforts to coax her for a compromise failed.

The girl was rushed to the Aligarh Medical College Hospital where she died this morning, Circle Officer, Gunnaur, Pramod Kumar said.
An FIR has been registered and investigation is underway, he said. The girl was raped a year ago and her family members have accused Vijay in their complaint to the police.
Superintendent of Police Atul Saxena said seven teams have been set up to nab the culprits. Meanwhile, the police beat incharge Anil Kumar has been placed under suspension, he added.
