Rape Case: Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda's son faces arrest

case against Union Railway Minister

's son has taken a new turn as arrest warrant has been issued against Karthik Gowda.

The arrest warrant against Karthik has been issued on Thursday, Sept 4 as he failed to appear before a court despite being served summons for two consecutive times.

However, Sadananda Gowda overruled all allegations against his son saying his son has been "falsely implicated" in the matter. "Law will take its own course. I will not interfere in the matter", he said when asked about the complaint filed against his son Karthik by the small-time Kannada model and actress.

"It is a personal matter. It is a falsely implicated complaint. As a Minister I am here", Gowda told reporters. The woman had claimed that she is married to the minister's son. The claim came on a day when Karthik got engaged to another woman at a ceremony at Kushalnagar in Kodagu District.

Bangalore Police commissioner M N Reddi had stated that "the woman had filed the complaint in RT Nagar Police Station against Karthik Gowda, Sadananda Gowda's son, for allegedly raping and cheating her". A case has been lodged against Karthik under IPC sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 420 (cheating), Reddi had said.
