Rape Allegations Against JSW Group MD Sajjan Jindal Were False: Mumbai Police Tells Court In Closure Report

The rape case charges against the JSW Group managing director Sajjan Jindal were false, said Mumbai Police in its closure reports submitted in Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court, according to the reports. The reports claimed that the Mumbai Police, in its investigation, found that the rape charges leveled by the complainant against the ace businessman were false and "with the intention of framing him in a false crime".

In her complaint, the woman had alleged that she was sexually molested on December 24, 2021, However, during the course of the investigation, the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Police learned that Sajjan Jindal did not go to any hotel on that day as claimed by the woman, according to the reports.

The police had scanned all CCTV footage of the hotel during the investigation.

The rape case was registered in December 2023 on directions of the Bombay High Court and the investigation was launched. The legal representatives of the woman also alleged that police did not pay heed to the complaint and refused to lodge a complaint.

It was also noted that the woman did cooperate with the police as she abstained from recording her statement despite several reminders.

The police concluded its report stating there "was no wrongdoing with the woman" and she only "wasted" the court's time by leveling false charges.
