The complaint has been filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women's Commission for allegedly using abusive language on the show and strict action has been demanded against the accused in the letter.

In the viral clip, Ranveer asks, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life - or would you join in once and stop it forever?" This clip has come under criticism.

In fact, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has criticised the comment and said, "I have been informed about this, though I have not watched it yet. I came to know that it was very vulgar and this was wrong. Everyone has freedom of speech but this freedom ends when we encroach upon others' freedom. Everyone has limits, if anyone crosses them, action will be taken,"

Following the controversy, Ranveer posted a public apology on social media, acknowledging his mistake. "I shouldn't have said what I said on India's Got Latent. I'm sorry," he wrote in his caption.

In his video statement, he admitted, "My comment was not just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to apologize. Many of you questioned if this is how I wish to use my platform-obviously not. I had a lapse in judgment, and it was not cool on my part."

He further added, "The podcast is watched by people of all ages, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. Family is the last thing I would ever disrespect. I need to use this platform better, and that has been my biggest learning from this experience."

Ranveer also revealed that he has requested the makers of India's Got Latent to remove the "insensitive sections" from the episode. "All I can say in the end is sorry. I hope you can forgive me as a human being," he concluded.
