Ranchi Bound IndiGo Flight With 175 People Onboard Makes Emergency Landing; Read Details Here
A Patna to Ranchi IndiGo flight met with an accident on Monday. According to the reports, a bid hit the aircraft mid-air when plane was 3,000 to 4,000 feet above sea level. This incident happened 10 to 12 miles away from Ranchi, resulting in an emergency landing at Birsa Munda Airport.
Director R R Maurya of Birsa Munda Airport told media that collision resulted in a dent to the aircraft, though all 175 passengers aboard remained safe.
"Engineers are assessing the damage," Maurya added, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

The unexpected encounter with wildlife occurred at 1.14 pm, and despite the unforeseen emergency landing, no comments have been made by IndiGo officials regarding the incident. Bird strikes are not uncommon in the aviation industry, particularly during the critical phases of takeoff and landing. Following such incidents, standard procedure dictates a thorough inspection of the affected aircraft before it can be cleared for further service, ensuring passenger safety remains paramount.
In a separate yet similarly alarming event, an IndiGo flight traveling from Raipur to Delhi was caught in turbulence caused by a dust storm, leading to a tense moment as the aircraft prepared to land at Delhi airport. The pilot, facing wind speeds of up to 80 km/hr, opted to ascend again, circling in the air until conditions improved. Flight 6E 6313 eventually landed safely, and footage of the harrowing experience circulated widely on social media platforms, highlighting the challenges faced by pilots in adverse weather conditions.
Delhi, the destination of the turbulent flight, experienced unusual weather patterns on the same day, with a spell of rain and strong winds affecting the southern parts of the city. This change in weather, attributed to an east-southeastward-moving cloud cluster by the Meteorological Department, brought a welcome drop in temperature from the highs of over 39 C recorded earlier. The Safdarjung area noted a maximum temperature of 39.7 degrees Celsius, with nearby regions recording similar highs, indicating the intense heat preceding the rain. This unexpected weather shift provided a brief respite from the sweltering conditions, marking a significant moment in the city's climate records for the day.
