Ramnagara Marathon on Feb 26 to create water conservation awareness

Ramnagara district has been witnessing very less rainfall in 2016-17 and this has led to severe water crisis

The district administration of Ramnagara in Karnataka has decided to conduct a marathon as part of the jalaandolana campaign, an initiative to spread awareness about water conservation and efficient water management. Ramnagara district has been witnessing very less rainfall in 2016-17 and this has led to severe water crisis.

Mamatha B R, district magistrate of the Ramanagara district says that the initiative has been taken up to initiate a district wide campaign to spread the message of water conservation and efficient water management to every house, habitat and institution. In order to accomplish this, Bosch Foundation, Bidadi Industries Association and Rotary Silk have joined hands with the district administration for conducting several events.

The marathon will be held on February 26 in association with the Yellow and Red Foundation of Ramanagara. The district administration had also held several programmes such as the Madhyama jalaandolana, Krishi jalaandolana, Shikshana jalaandolana and Mahila jalaandolana.
