Ramjas college clash: Police say videos appear doctored
Clashes erupted between members of the All India Students Association and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidya Parishad over Umar Khalid.
The Delhi Police on Thursday filed an Action Taken Report (ATR) in connection with its investigation on clashes between the ABVP and AISA in February this year over Umar Khalid being invited to speak at an event at the Ramjas College.
The Delhi Police, has in its report, claimed that the video clips submitted by various sources appear to be doctored, adding that they will send them for forensic examination again.
Clashes erupted between members of the All India Students Association and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidya Parishad over Umar Khalid, a JNU student who was accused of sedition last year, being invited to speak at a seminar on Cultures of Protest. Ramjas College literary society had invited Khalid.
The talk by Khalid was then cancelled which led to clashes at the Delhi University. Clashes were reported at the North Campus of the Delhi University. The two groups have clashed several times in the past.
Khalid's name had made to the front pages of the newspapers in the sedition case registered during an Afzal Guru event at the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Khalid was a co-accused in the sedition case along with Kanhaiya Kumar and Anirban Bhattacharya.
It was alleged that anti-national slogans were raised at the JNU during the event.
