New Delhi, Oct 8: 90-year-old Ram Jethmalani failed and now Jayalalithaa kept her hope for another expensive advocate -- Harish Salve. The senior advocate, who earlier had appeared for the AIADMK chief in Supreme Court, reportedly would represent her once again in the apex court.

After Karnataka High Court's disappointing judgement for Jayalalithaa, she is likely to move the Supreme Court. Here it can be recalled that Salve had represented Jayalalithaa in 2011 asking exemption for her from personal appearance in Bangalore court. But Judges Talveer Bhandar and Deepak Varma had rejected the plea, saying this is yet another tactics to prolong the case.

The Judges also had said, we need not have to hear all the arguments what the accused say. The same Salve is appearing for Jayalalithaa in Supreme Court.

The Karnataka High Court on Oct 7 rejected Jayalalithaa's bail plea. She has been lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail in Bangalore ever since her conviction in Rs 66.6 crore disproportionate assets case on Sept 27.

According to sources, other three convicts in the case -- Jayalalithaa's friend Sasikala, VN Sudhakaran, the disowned foster son of the former Tamil Nadu chief minister, and Sasikala's sister-in-law Ilavarasi are also likely to approach the apex court.
