Rajkot Gaming Zone Fire Incident: Gujarat Police Arrest Prime Accused

In connection with Rajkot Gaming Zone's fire incident, where more than 27 people including 9 children lost their lives, the Gujarat Police has arrested the prime accused Dhaval Thakkar, one of the owners of the gaming zone. There are a total of six partners who were running the Gaming Zone, out of 3 were arrested earlier, Thakkar is the fourth person and 2 are still on the run.

Reports said that he was arrested by Banaskantha Local Crime Branch police and Rajkot Police in a joint operation from Abu Road.

Gujarat Police Arrest Prime Accused Dhaval Thakkar

All arrested earlier were sent to a 14-day police remand and now state police will produce the prime accused in court likely today.

The six accused were identified as Dhaval Thakkar (proprietor of Dhaval Corporation), his partners Ashok Singh Jadeja, Kiritsinh Jadeja, Prakash Chand Hiran, Yuvrajsinh Solanki, and Rahul Rathod.

It was reported that the Gaming zone had no clearance from the fire safety department and no emergency fire exit.

Police has booked all 6 owner and partners of the gaming zone under IPC sections 304 (culpable homicide), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 337 (causing hurt by an act that endangers the life or personal safety of others), 338 (causing grievous hurt to a person by doing an act that endangers their life or personal safety) and 114 (someone present when offence is committed).

Meanwhile, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Bhai Patel has ordered suspension of officials two police inspectors and civic staff of Rajkot Municipal Corporation over negligence in duty that was also a reason for Rajkot's fire incident.
