Rajinikanth should do some good for Tamil people, says BJP TN chief Soundarajan
Chennai, Nov 18: Amid reports of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth joining politics, Tamil Nadu BJP chief Tamilisai Soundarajan on Tuesday said the veteran actor should do some good for the people of the State.
"I welcome that move. He should do some good for the people of Tamil Nadu," Soundarajan was quoted as saying in media reports.

She also said Rajnikanth's move towards the social service is appreciable. Soundarajan also said that the veteran actor had always been active in social cause and several times raised his voice against corruption in the State.
She also said earlier the party had requested him to join hands and if he does so it will strengthen the BJP.
Earlier on Sunday, the superstar hinted that he may join politics in near future. At the launch of the audio and trailer of his tri-lingual action-thriller 'Lingaa', the 63-year-old actor said, "Politics is dangerous and deep. I am not afraid of politics, but hesitant. In politics you need strong roots".
The Actor, further added, "I have been moving in the direction shown by God. If he desires that I should come to politics, I will serve the people".
The speculation of the megastar's plunging into politics gained momentum after he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during run up to Lok Sabha election. Reports say that Rajnikanth is wooed vigorously by the BJP in Tamil Nadu to strengthen the party in the state keeping its eyes on 2016 assembly elections as it wanted to present an alternative to AIADMK and DMK.
