Rajasthan: Reckless Driving Kills IAF Aspirant In Jaipur; Driver Absconds

In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old girl was killed in a hit-and-run incident on a Jaipur expressway on Wednesday in Rajasthan. She was preparing for the Indian Air Force physical examination, according to a report in the IANS.

The victim identified as Anaya Sharma was jogging on the Shanti Bagh stretch of the expressway before the speeding SUV hit her from the behind. She suffered severe injuries. The teenager was rushed to the hospital where she breathed her last during the treatment.

The driver of the black Mahindra Thar SUV fled the spot.

Anaya Sharma was a resident of Jhunjhunu and was living in Jaipur with her sister. The driver of the car escaped from the spot after the incident, the police said. A case has been registered at Kardhani Police Station.

The reckless driver hit another vehicle before fleeing the spot. He abandoned the Thar SUV near Dadi ka Phatak and escaped on foot.

However, the body was handed over to the victim's family after the port-mortem. It was taken to her native for the last rites.

Meanwhile, the hunt to nab the culprit is on. Special teams have been formed to catch the absconder. The cops are looking into the CCTV footage, technical surveillance, and other evidence to identify the accused.

The incident has triggered massive outrage among the citizens who demand a strict action against the absconder whose reckless driving took a life. However, the cops have assured the public that stringent action will be taken against him.
