Police Suspensions and Transfers in Rajasthan Over Alleged Beef Sale Inaction
In Rajasthans Khairthal-Tijara district, four police officers were suspended, and other personnel were transferred for failing to take action against individuals suspected of selling beef. The incident occurred after alleged beef sellers were apprehended in a deserted location. Police conducted raids, rescued cows, demolished encroachments, and detained suspects. Investigations are ongoing, with meat samples sent for testing.
In a significant development, four police personnel have been suspended, and other personnel at a police station in Rajasthan's Khairthal-Tijara district have been shifted to the police lines for failing to take action against individuals suspected of selling beef.

Raids Conducted, Suspects Detained
The action was prompted by the arrest of several individuals allegedly selling suspected beef in the open in a deserted location within the district. Upon receiving information about cow slaughter and beef sales, multiple police teams conducted raids in the area, resulting in the apprehension of several suspects.
Cows Rescued, Encroachments Removed
In addition to the arrests, police also took steps to address related issues. Around a dozen cows found wandering in the area were safely relocated to a cow shelter, and several huts were demolished to remove encroachments from government land.
IGP's Statement and Further Action
Jaipur Inspector General of Police (IGP) Umesh Dutta provided details about the operations, stating that various teams were formed to conduct combing operations in four districts of the range. He confirmed that following reports of cow slaughter and beef selling in the Kishangarh Bas area, police detained several individuals and recovered fresh meat for testing.
Suspensions and Inquiry Ordered
As a consequence of the inaction by the police personnel, four policemen from the Kishangarh Bas police station, who were responsible for the beats where the substance was found and suspects were apprehended, have been suspended. The remaining staff members have been shifted to the police lines. An inquiry has also been ordered against the police personnel for their failure to take action on complaints related to beef selling. The inquiry will be conducted by an additional superintendent of police rank official from outside the district.
Case Registered, Area Notorious for Cow Smuggling
Furthermore, a case under the Rajasthan Bovine Animal Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export Act has been registered against 22 individuals. Notably, the area where the search operation was initiated is situated near the Haryana border and is known for its involvement in cow smuggling. Police teams conducted raids in villages and open areas on the outskirts where alleged beef was being sold.
The incident highlights the importance of prompt action and vigilance by law enforcement agencies in addressing concerns related to cow slaughter and illegal meat sales. The steps taken by the Rajasthan Police demonstrate their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the well-being of animals.
