Brave Rajasthan Policeman Shot, Run Over by Drug Smugglers, Still Alerts Team
In a shocking incident in the Sarthal forest area of Baran district, Rajasthan police constable Sujan Singh was shot and repeatedly run over by drug smugglers. The constable, Sujan Singh, tried to intercept the criminals at a checkpost located within a forest area when he was shot and run over by their car multiple times. Despite being seriously injured with gunshot wounds and fractures, Singh managed to alert his team about the situation.
Unflinching Bravery Amidst Dire Circumstances

Singh suffered severe injuries including a gunshot wound in his upper waist area and fractures on both his legs and collarbone. The smugglers did not stop at shooting him; they went ahead to drive over him three times in an attempt to eliminate any chances of survival or retaliation. However, showing unflinching bravery amidst such dire circumstances, he was still able to alert his nearby police team about the ongoing criminal activity.
The Arrival of Backup
On seeing the backup arrive at the scene of crime, the smugglers abandoned their vehicle and fled away into the night. Sarthal Station House Officer (SHO) Mahaveer Kirad provided details about this incident which occurred on Thursday night. According to him, 241 kg of poppy husk was seized from the abandoned vehicle left behind by these culprits.
A Prepared Ambush Turned Sour
The SHO further informed that based on intelligence inputs regarding smuggling activities through this route using a black car, checkposts were established under Sarthal police station's jurisdiction within forest areas for interception purposes. Singh spotted this suspicious car approaching from Patalapani village during one such vigilance routine.
The vehicle slowed down as it approached closer whereupon one occupant rolled down its window and fired at Singh before he could react. After he fell down injured from the gunshot, the smugglers drove over him.
