Rajasthan Minister Kirodi Lal Meena Alleges Police Misconduct Over SHO's Behaviour During Detentions

Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena has accused the police of targeting him due to his objections to the actions of an SHO. The issue arose when people demanded the cancellation of the SI recruitment exam over alleged irregularities. Meena claimed he knew who directed the filing of an FIR against him, though Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph clarified that no FIR was filed.

Kirodi Lal Meena Accuses Police of Misconduct

The incident involved SHO Kavita Sharma detaining Manju Sharma, who sought the exam's cancellation. She then attempted to detain Vikas Bidhuri at his residence, following orders from senior officers. Intelligence suggested they planned to disrupt Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jaipur. Meena intervened during this attempt, allegedly rebuking the SHO for her actions.

Minister's Allegations and Demands

On Friday, Meena held a press conference demanding action against SHO Kavita Sharma. He questioned the basis for any FIR and insisted he acted within legal provisions to protect Manju Sharma and Vikas Bidhuri. Meena stated, "Only the chief minister can tell on whose behest the FIR was lodged." He denied taking the law into his own hands.

Meena further alleged that some officials provided intelligence reports to tarnish his image and create a rift with the chief minister. He expressed intentions to disclose names of those acting against him after consulting with the BJP state president. He also demanded strict action against SHO Kavita Sharma, accusing certain officers of shielding her.

Political Implications and Reactions

On Wednesday morning, Meena visited Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham's residence with Manju Sharma and Vikas Bidhuri, seeking action against the SHO. He accused officials of attempting to damage his reputation by suggesting he planned to disrupt upcoming events involving Prime Minister Modi in Rajasthan.

The prime minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit on December 9. Meena described these allegations as efforts by officers to spoil his image and create discord between him and the chief minister. Despite these claims, Commissioner Joseph reiterated that no FIR was filed against Meena; only a record of events was made in the Rojnamcha.

The situation highlights tensions between political figures and law enforcement in Rajasthan. As events unfold, it remains crucial for authorities to address concerns raised by all parties involved while ensuring transparency and accountability in handling such sensitive matters.
