Rajasthan CM Announcement: 'Be Ready For Surprise', Says BJP As Key Meet Starts Shortly

The recently elected MLAs of the Bhartiya Janata Party in Rajasthan are set to convene on Tuesday to finalize the selection of their next chief minister. The announcement regarding the new CM of Rajasthan is expected after this pivotal meeting today. The CM designate will be announced after the legislature party meeting scheduled to take place at 4 pm.

Tasked as the observer for the CM selection process in Rajasthan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, accompanied by two co-observers-national vice-president Saroj Pandey and national general secretary Vinod Tawde-will participate in the meeting. The party is slated to unveil the new Rajasthan CM following this gathering.

Among the potential candidates for the chief ministerial position in Rajasthan are former CM Vasundhara Raje and Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The official announcement regarding the next CM will come after the BJP legislature party meeting, scheduled for 4:00 pm on Tuesday in Rajasthan. Attendance at this crucial meeting is mandatory for all newly elected MLAs.

Kirodi Lal Meena hinted at the emergence of an unexpected candidate for the CM role. ''There will be a surprise name for the CM face,'' said Meena.

Alongside CP Joshi, Diya Kumari, and Kirori Meena, Anita Bhadel, the MLA representing Ajmer South, has risen as a primary contender for the party's CM candidacy. Bhadel has maintained a consistent victory streak from the Ajmer South constituency since 2003.

Rajasthan's spotlight intensifies due to the absence of opposition if a fresh face is given the opportunity, akin to the smooth transition observed in Chhattisgarh. However, the BJP's confidence regarding a seamless transition in Rajasthan remains uncertain. This hesitation might clarify why the BJP has yet to convene the Rajasthan legislature party meeting, unlike the other two states where announcements have been made.
