Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023: BJP Releases First List Of 41 Candidates
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released first list of 41 candidates ahead of Rajasthan assembly election 2023. Notably, among these 41 candidates, seven are currently serving Members of Parliament (MPs) who will be vying for positions in the state elections.
As per the list, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore will contest from Jhotwara, Diya Kumari in Vidhyadhar Nagar, Baba Balaknath in Tijara, Narendra Kumar in Mandawa, Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena in Sawai Madhopur, Bhagirath Choudhary in Kishangarh, and Devji Patel will contest in Sanchore. It must be noted that Diya Kumari is a member of the former Jaipur royal family.

The complete list of candidates has been released, following the approval of the names by the BJP's central election committee, according to a party spokesperson.
Rajasthan Assembly elections 2023 will be held in a single phase on November 23, with the vote count slated for December 3. Rajasthan has a total of 200 seats, and the impending elections are expected to be a direct contest between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party on November 23.
In the 2018 elections, the Congress secured 100 seats, while the BJP followed with 73 seats, and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) obtained 6 seats. The Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) claimed 3 seats, with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Bhartiya Tribal Party (BTP) each winning 2 seats. The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) managed to secure only one seat, and there were 13 independent candidates in the 2018 Assembly Elections.
