Raj EC asks observers to ensure peaceful municipal polls
Jaipur, Aug 6: Rajasthan State Election Commissioner Ram Lubhaya today asked the observers appointed to keep a strict vigilance on the political activities and management for conducting free and fair elections slated for polls on August 17.
All poll observers in 129 civic bodies (municipal) should be present in their constituencies (wards) during August 12 and 20 and monitor the management and keep watch on political activities of all parties for peaceful, free and fair polls, addressing a high level meeting here the Commissioner directed.

Observers should also file a report to this effect and law and order situation and compliance of model code of conduct by contestants, he further directed.
They should also keep updated the district and local administration about any untoward activities if they notice, he said. The meeting was attended by observers, officers of RSEC, and senior officers of local self bodies, according to an official spokesman.
