Rains in several lower areas of Himachal Pradesh


Shimla, Sep 8: Several areas of Himachal Pradesh were lashed by heavy rains during past 24 hours, affecting normal life in lower areas while there was no significant change in mercury.

Sundernagar and Una received 82 mm and 80 mm of rains while Kangra recorded 56 mm rains, followed by Baldwara 33 mm, Bilaspur, Kalatop and Dalhousie 26 mm, Sunnibajji 18 mm, Rajgarh 17 mm, Mashobra and Bangana 14 each, Shimla 13 mm, Nurpur 12 mm and Chelsea 10 mm.

Una was hottest in the region during the day today with maximum temperature at 33.0 degree while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded a high of 31.9 degree and 31.5 degree respectively followed by Solan 28.2 degree, Nahan 26.9 degree, Shimla 23.1 degree, Manali 22.4 degree and Kalpa 22.6 degree C.

Minimum temperatures rose marginally by one to two degrees as Kalpa and Keylong recorded a low of 11.2 degree, followed by Manali 13.2 degree, Shimla 15.2 degree, Dharaamsala 16.2 degree, Solan 17.6 degree, Bhuntar 19.2 degree, Una 19.3 degree and Sundernagar 21.3 degree C. The local MeT office here has predicted light to moderate rains at isolated places during the next four days.
