Rain lashes Bengaluru again, heavy downpour predicted for next 48 hours

Heavy rains continued to lash Bengaluru for the second day in a row even as the city is struggling to recover from Monday night's rain fury. More rains have been predicted for Bengaluru and neighbouring districts for the next 48 hours. Thunderstorm lashed parts of Bengaluru on Tuesday evening.

More rains expected in Bengaluru

Parts of Bengaluru city continue to be flooded with waterlogging reported from posh localities like Indiranagar and Koramangala. Low lying areas have been flooded and the situation is only expected to worsen over the next two days. The Meteorological department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Bengaluru till Thursday.

Thunderstorms are likely to affect electricity supply. Reports of rainwater and overflowing storm water flooding homes emerged on Tuesday morning. Several trees came crashing down due to heavy rains on Monday night. The BBMP along with other civic agencies is working overtime to address complaints. The scenario is expected to repeat over the next two days. Monday night's rainfall shattered a 126-year record for the month of August in the city.
