Rain, hailstorm likely in Delhi today, fresh snowfall in Kashmir
Rain and thunderstorm are likely in the national capital on Monday due to an active western disturbance originating over central parts of Afghanistan.

The India Meteorological Department had on Sunday predicted predicted thunderstorms in several parts of north-west India and heavy rain or snowfall in isolated areas over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
"Thunderstorm accompanied with hailstorm very likely at isolated places over Jammu Division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, interior Odisha, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh on February 12," the IMD said in its report.
Delhi
The minimum temperature in Delhi is likely to hover around 14-degree centigrade, with maximum temperature at 21-degree centigrade, a slight rise of 2-4 degree centigrade from normal.
The change in weather is being attributed to "an active western disturbance that lies over central parts of Afghanistan at present.
Jammu and Kashmir
Fresh snowfall was on Monday recorded in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for vehicular traffic.
The snowfall, however, snapped Kashmir's links with the rest of the country as the arterial Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed due to the accumulation of snow around Jawahar Tunnel in the Qazigund area.
Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have set up helpline numbers for people to approach in case of emergencies across different districts.
Himachal Pradesh
The hills of Himachal Pradesh might experience more rain and snowfall in the next three days. Most of the prominent tourist towns like Shimla, Narkanda, Kufri, Kalpa, Dalhousie and Manali are likely to have light to moderate spells of snowfall.
There are chances of heavy rainfall and snowfall at some places in the state till Feb 12, IMD said.
Shimla saw season's first snowfall on January 23, while Manali, the popular tourist resort in Kullu valley, about 250 km from Shimla, experienced mild spell of snow on that day.
Uttarakhand
Parts of Uttarakhand like Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Dehradun, Pauri, Haridwar and Nanital are witnessing heavy rainfall today accompanied by hailstorm.
Wrapped in snow, Hindu pilgrimage site Kedarnath also welcomed an untimely change in the weather today.
Maharashtra
Unseasonal hailstorm and rains in parts of the state not only damaged crops but also claimed two lives in Jalna district a day ago. Hailstones weighing as much as 34 grams resulted in deaths of Namdev Shinde, 62, and Asaram Jagtap, 65 from Jalna.
Meanwhile, Light rain, measuring up to 4 mm to 7 mm, is expected over Pune, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur on Monday and widespread rain, up to 20 mm, is expected in Vidarbha and some of the adjoining parts of Marathwada until February 13.
