Rain Coming Soon! Temperature Rises Again, Rain And Thunderstorms Likely For Next 2 Days

The weather in Delhi has taken a mild turn after recent rainfall brought temporary relief from the heat.

On Saturday morning, the city recorded a slight increase in temperature, even as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted more rain and thunderstorms in the coming days.

Minimum Temperature Sees a Rise

The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 25.9°C at Safdarjung, which is 3.1 degrees higher than the previous day and slightly above the normal level.

Other weather stations across the city also reported a rise:

• Palam: 23.6°C
• Lodhi Road: 24.8°C
• Ridge: 23.7°C
• Ayanagar: 25.6°C

This increase comes just two days after light to moderate rainfall had lowered temperatures across the city.

Rain and Thunderstorm Alert Issued

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, warning of light rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds over the next two days.

According to forecasts, wind speeds may reach 30-40 km/h and could gust up to 50 km/h. These weather conditions are expected to bring short-term relief from rising daytime temperatures.

Similar weather patterns are likely to continue into Monday as well.

Maximum Temperature Expected to Stay High

Despite chances of rain, daytime temperatures are expected to remain high. The IMD has predicted the maximum temperature to be between 38°C and 40°C.

This means that while mornings and evenings may feel pleasant due to rain, afternoons could still remain hot.

Air Quality Remains Moderate

The city's air quality has stayed in the moderate category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 119 on Saturday morning.

An AQI between 101 and 200 is considered moderate, which may cause mild discomfort to sensitive groups.

Forecasts suggest that the AQI will likely remain in the same range over the next few days.
