'Rahul wasn't concerned about food park when UPA was in power'
Indore, July 4: Union Minister of State for Food Processing Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Friday alleged here that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi was not serious about the food park proposed in his constituency, Amethi.
Rahul had targeted the NDA government during the budget session of Parliament after the food park proposal was allegedly scrapped. "Had Rahul been serious over setting up the park, he would not have slept from 2010 to 2014. Neither the land and electricity nor guidelines for the park were fixed for the project," Jyoti said here.

"Rahul showed concern about the food park after the UPA government lost power. The person who was not serious about his constituency can't be serious about the country," said Jyoti, who has been in controversies due to her statements in the past.
Earlier, speaking at a function of PHD Chamber of Commerce, she advocated balanced industrial development across the country to achieve 'Make in India' dream of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Expressing concern over lack of food processing units, the Sadhvi said farmers were not getting the right price of produce because of lack of food processing industry, and the government was taking steps to change this situation.
Children and women are served food meant for the animals in the name of nutritious food at the Anganwadi centres, the minister said, adding that they should be given the food containing soybean which is rich in protein at such centres.
Ruchi group, a leading food processing company, had been given the green signal to open a food park in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh, she said, adding that the Central government would be giving nod to another two such units in the state.
