Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde Declares Rahul Gandhi Unfit for Leader of Opposition Role

Shrikant Shinde of Shiv Sena criticises Rahul Gandhi's ability to lead the Congress party, highlighting recent protests at the AI Impact Summit as a distraction from India's technological progress.

Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde criticised Rahul Gandhi on Friday for the Youth Congress's protest at the AI Impact Summit. Shinde argued that Gandhi is not capable of leading his party or serving as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. He expressed these views in a post on X, highlighting the Congress's preference for spectacle over substance.

Shinde emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has successfully brought together innovators, investors, and leaders to demonstrate India's emergence as a technological and economic leader. He quoted Mark Twain, saying, "Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society," to underline his point.

AI Impact Summit Protest

At the AI Impact Summit, Indian Youth Congress members staged a shirtless protest. They walked around with t-shirts displaying slogans against the government and the India-US trade deal. Shinde remarked that such theatrics only serve to embarrass the nation at a time meant to highlight India's growing global stature.

Shinde expressed hope that India's main opposition party would embrace wisdom, integrity, and love for India. He praised Prime Minister Modi's leadership, stating that under Modi, India's profile as a digital leader and rapidly growing economy has significantly strengthened.

India's Global Position

According to Shinde, global platforms are being hosted with confidence and competence under Modi's leadership. He described this as true statesmanship. In contrast, he criticised the opposition for offering noise instead of ideas and stunts instead of solutions.

Shinde stressed that democracy requires a serious opposition but lamented what he sees as a collapse of credibility within it. He stated that India is progressing and the world recognises this advancement.

"No amount of drama can overshadow the leadership that is positioning India at the centre of global innovation and growth," Shinde concluded.
