Rahul to visit Wayanad for first time after his disqualification
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to visit his former constituency Wayanad in Kerala on 11th April, the first time after his disqualification as MP. During his visit, he will address a public rally and hold a roadshow.

According to reports, hundreds of United Democratic Front (UDF) activists from Wayanad, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts and delegates from Palakkad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts will attend the public meeting and the roadshow, said KPCC working president T Siddique at a press conference.
Rahul had last time visited Wayanad in February when he came down heavily against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged nexus with business Gautam Adani.
Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years in jail by a trial court in Gujarat's Surat in a 2019 criminal defamation case over his 'why do all thieves have the Modi surname' remark which he made during an election campaign rally in Karnataka's Kolar district. The lower court had granted him bail for 30 days to appeal the verdict.
A day later, he was disqualified as a member of the Lok Sabha. The disqualification from Lok Sabha will bar Gandhi (52), a four-time MP, from contesting polls for eight years unless a higher court stays his conviction. Meanwhile, Rahul has remained defiant saying that he would not apologise for his comments made since his name was 'Gandhi' not 'Savarkar.
