Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra: PM Modi Targeted With Abusive Language From Congress Stage

Rahul Gandhi's ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar stirred controversy after a video emerged from Darbhanga showing a Youth Congress leader using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The rally, organised by local Youth Congress leader Mohammad Naushad, was part of Gandhi's statewide campaign.

The incident took place in the Atarbel area of Darbhanga district, where derogatory remarks and offensive language were hurled at PM Modi from the stage. The clip quickly went viral, drawing strong reactions from political opponents.

BJP Slams Congress, Seeks Apology

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongly condemned the remarks, holding Rahul Gandhi responsible for allowing such behaviour at his rally. Party leaders labelled the incident "unacceptable and intolerable," demanding a public apology.

"Rahul Gandhi ji, the vulgar abuses for the honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji from your stage cannot be tolerated. You owe an apology to the nation. The people of Bihar will never forgive you for this. Modi ji, a poor man's son and an OBC, has become Prime Minister, and you cannot accept it. This frustration will consume you," BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar stated.

Congress Leader Issues Clarification

Amid mounting criticism, organiser Mohammad Naushad issued an apology, claiming he was not present at the venue when the remarks were made. Naushad, a Youth Congress leader from Jale assembly constituency in Darbhanga, is reportedly seeking a party ticket for the upcoming elections. He was recently accused of attacking fellow ticket aspirant Maskoor Usmani, who sustained a head injury in the scuffle. The Jale constituency is currently represented by BJP's Jivesh Mishra, Bihar's Urban Development Minister.

Rahul Gandhi's Yatra Nears Conclusion

Rahul Gandhi's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra,' which entered its 12th day on Thursday, is currently moving through Mithilanchal. The campaign was initially scheduled to conclude with a rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on September 1, but due to unavailability of the venue, it will now end with a roadshow. The closing event will begin at the Gandhi statue in Gandhi Maidan and culminate at the Ambedkar statue near Patna High Court. Rahul Gandhi will be joined by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during the final leg.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Tejashwi Yadav, offered prayers at the Janaki Temple in Sitamarhi, an event postponed from the previous day over security concerns. The Yatra is scheduled to continue to Motihari later on Thursday.
