Rahul Gandhi's statements are like those coming from Pakistan: BJP
While Rahul said that "everyone knows the truth" about "ease of doing business", Jaitley hit back and said that UPA rule was all about "ease of doing corruption".
The BJP has now likened Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's remarks on India's ranking in ease of doing business to those coming from Pakistan. Rahul and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley have been involved in a war of words on Twitter over the issue.
While Rahul said that "everyone knows the truth" about "ease of doing business", Jaitley hit back and said that UPA rule was all about "ease of doing corruption".
"When you hear statements of Rahul Gandhi and Congress Party about India doing well in the economy, and making it big into the world economy, the statement appears as if they are coming from Pakistan," BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao told news agency ANI on Thursday.
Commenting on India's 30 place jump in World Bank's Ease of Doing Business rankings, the Congress vice-president had on Wednesday tweeted, "Sabko maloom hai 'ease of doing business' ki hakikat, lekin khud ko khush rakhne ke liye 'Dr Jaitley' yeh khyaal acha hai (Everyone knows the truth about ease of doing business, but let Dr Jaitley keep himself happy thinking about it)."

Reacting to this, Jaitley tweeted, "The difference between the UPA and NDA - The ease of doing corruption has been replaced by the ease of doing business."
Rahul Gandhi has been trying to corner the BJP government over several issues including demonetisation, implementation of the GST and GDP growth rate.
