Rahul in Varanasi for his last leg of Lok Sabha election campaigns

Rahul is reported to have landed in Varanasi at 7:15 am and is the first from the Gandhi family to pay a visit to the land of Gods after Ajay Rai was declared the Congress candidate from the city. It is yet unknown, whether his visit here was in response to Modi storming the Gandhi family in Amethi. However, Congress leaders state otherwise. "We are not comparing our rally with other political parties," said a Congress supremo.
The district administration has allowed Rai and Gandhi just 4 hours for the roadshow and the places that are likely to be covered include from Gol Gadda to Maidagin, including the minority-dominated Chetganj and Benia areas, leading to Gudaulia and finally travelling via Assi Ghat, before ending at Lanka near the Banaras Hindu University campus.
Soon after, SP leader and UP chief minister is likely to follow the same rally trail.
