Rajasthan poll: Rahul Gandhi reveals Congress's plan for Indians

assembly election. The young Gandhi family scion addressed a huge rally at Baran district of Rajasthan on Tuesday, Sept 17.

Addressing the crowd gathered at the venue, Rahul revealed Congress' plan for the aam-aadmi (common man) of the country which is expected to go for Lok Sabha election in 2014.

Speaking at the rally, Rahul said that Congress has passed the Food Security Bill and Land Bill to empower the weaker sections of the society. The party wants the poor to live their dreams, claimed Rahul who earlier had expressed his desire to sacrificed his own dreams for the countrymen.

"Congress wants the poor to live their dreams. The party works for the aam aadmi not for a select few. India can move forward only if the poor can realise their dreams," said Rahul.

"I would ask the women who have come here to see the world's biggest dream for their children....... So, I am standing here because I believe that you, the poor people and the women, who have come here, are the country's biggest strength. If this country will move ahead, then, it will be do so only with your dreams. And, if we do not allow you to see those dreams, then, this nation cannot move ahead," added Rahul.

Speaking about the reasons behind Congress' efforts to bring in the Land Acquisition bill, Rahul said, "We respect your blood and tears, that is why we have brought the Land Acquisition Bill."

Rahul, during his rally in Baran district, was accompanied by Rajasthan Chief Mister Ashok Gehlot, Congress leaders CP Joshi, Sachin Pilot and Namo Narain Meena and many other senior party leaders.
