Rahul Gandhi is now most followed Congress leader on Twitter

Rahul Gandhi has finally beaten Shashi Tharoor. He overtook Tharoor on Twitter to become the most followed Congress leader. Rahul now has 6.77 million followers on his Twitter account.

Tharoor was in the lead all these days with 6.7 million followers. Tharoor who was quoted in a TOI report said, "with pleasure. It is only fitting. And as one who has been urging him for years to be on Twitter and to be himself there, I feel a certain sense of vindication."

While this is a small milestone for Rahul Gandhi, he still has a very long way to go before catching up to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi who has 42.3 million followers. Rahul reported a growth of nearly one million in two months. His followers went up from 24.93 lakh in July to 32 lakh by September.
