Rahul Gandhi In Trouble Again! UP Court Summons Congress MP On March 24 Over Remarks Against Army
A court in Uttar Pradesh has summoned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over alleged defamatory remarks against the Indian Army. These comments were reportedly made during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in December 2022. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Alok Verma has scheduled the next hearing for March 24, where Gandhi must appear in person.
The complaint was initiated by Uday Shankar Srivastava, a retired director of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) with the rank of an Army Colonel. The case was filed through lawyer Vivek Tiwari. Srivastava claims that Gandhi's statements have tarnished the reputation of the Indian Army.

Allegations Against Rahul Gandhi
During a media interaction on December 16, 2022, as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Gandhi allegedly made derogatory remarks about the Indian Army. These comments were related to a stand-off between Indian and Chinese troops on December 9, 2022. The complainant argues that these remarks were both insulting and defamatory.
The court will proceed with the case on March 24, requiring Gandhi to address these allegations. This legal action highlights ongoing tensions surrounding political discourse and its impact on national institutions.
