Rahul Gandhi Doubles Down on Rigging Allegations, Says Election Process Is Over

Rahul Gandhi, a prominent Congress leader and the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, recently claimed that India's election system is defunct. He alleged that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were manipulated and stated he has evidence to support this claim. Speaking at the 'Constitutional Challenges - Perspectives & Pathways' conclave, Gandhi expressed concerns about over 80 Lok Sabha seats being compromised.

Allegations of Electoral Malpractice

Gandhi highlighted that if even 15 seats were tampered with, it would have prevented the current Prime Minister from holding office. He promised to demonstrate how the Lok Sabha election was manipulated in the coming days. According to him, a six-month investigation by Congress revealed significant irregularities in the electoral process.

The Congress leader accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of being non-existent. He claimed documentation from the EC showed that out of 6.5 lakh voters in the Lok Sabha elections, 1.5 lakh were fake. Gandhi asserted this evidence would prove to the nation that the ECI has been compromised.

Concerns Since 2014

Gandhi shared his long-standing doubts about electoral integrity since 2014. He questioned BJP's landslide victories in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. Following their loss in Maharashtra, where one crore new voters emerged before assembly polls, Congress began probing electoral malpractices.

He recounted how Congress won the Lok Sabha election but suffered a severe defeat four months later. This prompted a deeper investigation into potential electoral fraud. In Maharashtra, they discovered a sudden influx of one crore new voters between Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections, with most votes favouring BJP.

Proof of Manipulation

Gandhi confidently stated they now possess undeniable proof of electoral manipulation. Despite previous skepticism from others demanding evidence, he believes their findings will substantiate claims of rigged elections. The Congress leader remains determined to expose these irregularities and restore faith in India's democratic processes.
